How to install Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate using ServerAvatar

Having SSL Certificate installed on your server to secure your connections with your website visitors is kind of mandatory nowadays. There are two major reasons behind it.

First, Getting SSL Certificate for your website is easy now. Second, It improves the overall privacy of your customers/visitors.

Also, The most used web browser by Google will display not-secure if a website does not have SSL Certificate.

SSL also plays very important role in getting trust of the search engine and rank higher than you can rank without SSL Certificate.

In this tutorial, I will show you how you can easily install Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificates on your websites hosted through ServerAvatar. But why Let’s Encrypt?

Let’s Encrypt is a Free SSL Certificate authority that provides SSL Certificates for free! It relies on the donations that the organization generates from the sponsors and donors. So, This is why we are going to install Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificates on our website using ServerAvatar.

To show you a live example, I have deployed a WordPress website on my test server connected with ServerAvatar. If you don’t know how you can connect your Server with ServerAvatar, Just message us on the live chat or learn from here.

Install Let’s Encrypt On Ubuntu with ServerAvatar

So, Let’s get started with the actual article. Considering you have connected your Server, Click on the Server Panel button given corresponding to the server on which your application is hosted. You will see a Server Panel just like the following image.

Now, Click on the List link on application card or you can also select Applications from the left sidebar of your panel. Now, you will see the list of applications hosted with your ServerAvatar account.

Now, Click on the Dashboard corresponding to the application on which you want to install SSL Certificate. Here is how your application dashboard should look like.

Now, Just click on the SSL Certificate given on the left sidebar and you should see a page just like the following image. It will ask you if you want to install Automatic SSL Certificate or Custom SSL Certificate.

To install SSL Certificate issued from Let’s Encrypt Authority, Select Automatic and Click on the Install SSL button.

If you are installing the SSL Certificate for the first time on the server, It will take some time to install, Maybe 50-60 seconds. After that, Installation on the same server will take less than 20-30 seconds.

Once your SSL is installed, Your SSL Certificate information will be displayed on the same page just like the following image.

If you are using Automatic SSL Certificate (Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate), then you don’t have to worry about renewals as ServerAvatar will renew all the SSL certificates for you that are near to expiry!

Conclusion: Even if your project is tiny, You need an SSL Certificate to get the trust of your visitors as well as search engines. Installing SSL Certificate won’t cost you anything as Let’s Encrypt Provides SSL Certificates for free.
