What is a Server?

It is important to understand what WE mean by a server. If you want to connect a server with ServerAvatar, Here is the meaning of it.


A Server is any kind of cloud instance or a remote server like VPS, Dedicated, Bare Metal or a local server.

It should have a clean Ubuntu operating system, without anything already installed in it. Specially a web server, or a live server currently hosting a website. By mistake, If you try to connect a server that can cause conflict with ServerAvatar, it will stop the installation and return an error message to you.

Here are the basic requirements to connect a server with ServerAvatar.

  • Accessible Port: If your Cloud platform or Server provider provides a firewall, enable the incoming connections on the port 43210.
  • Public IP Address: It should have a public IP. If IP changes, You can re-connect your server by updating the IP address in ServerAvatar.
  • Supported OS: Ubuntu 18.04 or Ubuntu 20.04.

Understanding Server Management

You can connect 1 or more servers in a single ServerAvatar account. You can connect a server from ANY cloud platform or any traditional server provider. As long as the installation requirements are met, You will be able to manage your server with serverAvatar.

You will have access to the servers you own, or if you are a member of a team(s). You can be a part of multiple teams, and own multiple teams. Our team management is pretty basic right now without permission management. However, We are coming up with that very soon.
