Bot Traffic

The Bot Traffic Monitoring Dashboard provides insights into automated traffic interacting with the application. This helps administrators track bot activity, identify potential threats, and analyze patterns in bot requests.

Bot Traffic Overview

This section highlights key bot-related metrics, including:

  • Total Bot Requests: The total number of bot-generated requests recorded.

  • Most Active Bot: Identifies the bot with the highest activity. If unknown, further analysis may be needed.

  • Bot Traffic Percentage: The proportion of bot traffic relative to total requests.

  • Top Bot Country: Displays the country where most bot activity originates.

step 1

This graph visualizes bot activity trends over time, showing the date and percentage of bot traffic compared to total site requests. By tracking fluctuations in bot activity, administrators can identify unusual spikes that may indicate malicious behavior.

Most Crawled URLs by Bots

This section lists the most frequently accessed URLs by bots. Understanding which URLs bots frequently visit can help identify indexing behavior, potential security threats, or unauthorized access attempts.

step 2

Bot Traffic Analysis

A detailed breakdown of bot activity per URL is provided, including:

  • Bot Name: Identifies the bot sending the request. If unknown, further investigation may be required.

  • Status Code: The HTTP response code returned for each bot request (e.g., 200 for successful requests, 404 for not found).

  • Requests Count: The number of times a bot accessed a specific URL.

  • Percentage: The proportion of total bot requests for each URL.

This analysis helps pinpoint whether bots are encountering errors (such as 404) or successfully retrieving content.

step 3

Bot Traffic by IP Address

This section logs bot activity based on IP addresses, helping track bot origins. Each entry contains:

  • Bot Name: Identifies the bot.

  • IP Address: The originating IP address of the bot.

  • Country: The geographic location of the bot request.

  • Requests Count: The number of requests made from the given IP address.

Monitoring bot traffic by IP helps detect malicious bots attempting unauthorized access or repeated requests from suspicious locations.

Bot Traffic Distribution

A pie chart visualization categorizes bot traffic by bot name, showing the proportion of requests from different bots. If all traffic is labeled Unknown, it may indicate unclassified bot traffic that requires deeper analysis.
